What Is the 2019 Mazda6?
The Mazda6 is a five-seat mid-size sedan that’s powered by a choice of four-cylinder engines: a standard 187-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder or an available 227-hp, turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder. Both engines work with a six-speed automatic transmission. Competitors include the Kia Optima, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

What’s New on the 2019 Mazda6?
New standard active safety features include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.

What Features in the 2019 Mazda6 Are Most Important?
The newly standard active safety features join already standard blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, giving this sedan a wealth of safety technology. Other standard features include automatic LED headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, 17-inch alloy wheels, the Mazda Connect multimedia system with an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming audio, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic air conditioning and push-button start.

Available features include heated front seats, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a power moonroof, a Bose premium stereo, a head-up display, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.

Should I Buy the 2019 Mazda6?
In the mid-size sedan class, the Mazda6 stands out for its handling and available premium finishes. However, the base four-cylinder engine could use more low-end power, and efficiency-focused shoppers looking for a hybrid version will have to look at one of the Mazda6’s competitors.
