What Is the 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?
Mitsubishi calls the five-seat Eclipse Cross a compact SUV, but the brand already has one of those with the two-row Outlander Sport. The Eclipse Cross slots between the Outlander Sport and three-row Outlander in Mitsubishi’s lineup and is available in four trim levels: base ES, LE, SE and SEL. The Eclipse Cross faces competition from the Honda CR-V , Toyota RAV4  and Mazda CX-5 .

What’s New on the 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?
There’s a newly available accessory roof rail system, but otherwise the Eclipse Cross, which was new last year, carries over with no major changes.

What Features in the 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Are Most Important?
All versions of the Eclipse Cross are powered by a 152-horsepower, turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that works with a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front- and four-wheel-drive versions are offered, and the most efficient front-drive model gets 27 mpg combined, according to the EPA. A budget-friendly starting price and long bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranties are part of the SUV’s appeal.

Available features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, a head-up display, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, push-button start, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a panoramic moonroof, heated front seats, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. Available active safety features for the top-of-the-line SEL trim include adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and automatic high-beam headlights.

Should I Buy the 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross?
The Eclipse Cross brings unique style to the compact SUV class, but we found it lacking in many areas. Its engine isn’t that powerful, it doesn’t handle well, and it doesn’t offer much room in its backseat
