That wasn’t the purpose of the committee at all, it was created so that stakeholders could talk to the DOT about relevant issues. It was a way for stakeholders to give input to the DOT, in other words, for insurance companies and transportation companies to give input to the government. The USDOT argues (in the article) that they already have sufficient capacity to speak with stakeholders and didn’t need the committee. So … I’m not sure what you’re talking about, because it seems like SDC developers are going to get the guidance of mother government, just without a committee of stakeholders.
