The 1973-1977 Chevelle/Malibu lineup has never been the most popular among performance enthusiasts. Stock they made no power and were such a departure in styling that they just never have gotten the following of earlier models. It’s the same for most of the muscle car and pony car marks as they moved into the mid 1970s. The SMOG era and gas crunch certainly didn’t help over the life of these models, but since we hot rodders never leave anything alone, I know we can fix the power issue in these without any trouble. The body style however is a look you have to grow to love. Or at least that’s what I’ve always felt.

But then guys like Johnny Hunkins and the minds over at Holley come along and do cool things with this body style and then the gloves are off. Now it’s not weird to like these!

So when one of our esteemed readers gave us a link to this cool 1976 Malibu SS clone, we immediately dug it. After all, everything is cooler with a clutch!

Hello you are looking at my 1976 Chevy Malibu/chevelle ss tribute car for sale not looking for trades!!! $5500 cash! It’s a nice respectable cruiser and these cars are making there way to big money now days. If your looking for a classic but cant afford 30k this is definitely the perfect car. It has a sbc 350 with headers, weiand intake, holley carb, competion cam, dual exhaust with flowmasters boy o boy does she sound like a true American muscle. It is backed up with a muncie 4 speed transmission. You can hop in this car and drive anywhere LITERALLY. The car has nice paint however it was redone 8 years ago it does have minor blistering here and there you really have to stare to see it that’s why I say ( cruiser quality) not a show piece but once again very respectable. The trunk and frames in excellent shape only flaw I noticed is the driver floor board needs patched up but that does not stop you from driving to florida and back in it.
